February 2019 After their first international "SEKT & VIOLENCE" tour the Porca Madonnas visited liège and the famous mülheim punx picnic. The punks and the picnickers cheered like never before, but on the way back the porcas faced some serious problems. On the highway an unexpected strong wind force came up and lead their small car into the metal barriers. Luckily no porca was harmed! But their small car got completely destroyed. And they face a big bill to pay off the barriers. --- Now the poor Porca Madonnas are looking for support and are organising some soli events with the glamourous DANCE-A-OKE night.
So come and join us for the first party on the 12th april in Leipzig. --- DANCE-A-OKE + HOT SENSATION "Hot Sensation" (disco, surf, wave+fun concert) after "Dance-a-oke" (lern new moves to hits from all eras) Where: Bonanza from 21h --- Thank you for your support!!!
WHO WE ARE
Finally the time has come and a quirky group was found that dances together free from pressure to perform and competition, but purely out of fun and joy. ThePorca Madonnas were born!
Inspired by Madonna, Lady Gaga & Co we quickly got together a large variety of creative ideas that also became part of us. Elements of film and theater, the attempt to try new dance styles, and especially the aim to express ourselves politically trough dance and various artistic creative forms of presentation.
We dance AGAINST heteronormative everyday practices and prejudices and FOR equality and social criticism. This also means that there is no room for homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, anti-semitism, patriotism, nationalism, classism as well as contemptuous behaviour or any form of discrimination!
Our group is self-determined – it lives from us all: from knowledge, from skills, from creative ideas and perspectives that each individual brings along and likes to share. But that also means that we are not a homogenous group and that there are different knowledge and horizons of experience especially with regard to dancing or the choreographic guidance.
A deliberate engagement with it should enable dancers to be part of the group, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, body type or ability.Dancing together means for us to be creative, to learn from each other, to inspire each other and to exchange ideas.
